Overview
Mafunso AI was built to solve a specific, painful problem for Zambian teachers: the hours spent every week manually creating assessments. Teachers would dig through old exam papers, copy questions by hand, and match them to curriculum outcomes — a tedious process that pulled time away from actual teaching.
The platform takes a curriculum topic and grade level as input, then generates a complete test with varied question types and a full answer key. It's designed around the Zambian syllabus so the output is immediately usable in real classrooms.
The Challenge
Zambian teachers spend hours every week writing assessments by hand — pulling questions from old papers, matching them to syllabus outcomes, and formatting answer keys. This time comes directly out of lesson planning and student interaction.
The Outcome
Mafunso AI generates a full test in under five minutes with a variety of question formats, and produces the answer key alongside it. Teachers get back hours every week to focus on what matters — teaching.
